Pemaquid Point is such a cultural treasure of Maine that it was chosen to be the symbol of Maine on the 2003 State Quarter, part of the U. S. Mint’s State Quarters Program. Pemaquid was recently chosen as the most favorite lighthouse in Maine by Down East magazine. A large reproduction of this photograph was in Blaine House during the second term of Gov. John Baldacci. This uncirculated coin is placed in the mat.
